Luggage-first choice
If your hotel is near a direct bus stop, airport bus is usually the best first answer with luggage. If the last walk still looks painful, private transfer starts making more sense than rail.
Best default with two suitcases
Airport bus is usually the easiest answer when a 6001, 6015, or 6701 stop lands close to your hotel. The trip can be slower, but it cuts down the painful part: extra transfers with luggage.
Best for the least walking
Private taxi or transfer wins when you care more about door-to-door ease than fare. This is the low-stress option for late arrivals, elderly parents, or multiple large bags.
Best only if your hotel transfer is still easy
AREX is still useful if you are comfortable changing again after Seoul Station or taking a short taxi from there. It stops being the best answer once the last stretch gets annoying.
Read this table by walking burden first, then by price. Myeongdong is exactly the kind of destination where one more transfer can matter more than the headline ticket cost.

The common mistake is treating Myeongdong like Seoul Station on the map. The train gets you into central Seoul fast, but your real luggage problem often starts after the train ends.
For Myeongdong-side airport bus choices, 6001 and 6015 currently sit at KRW 17,000 for adults and KRW 12,000 for children, while 6701 is KRW 18,000 for adults and KRW 12,000 for children. For luggage-heavy travelers, the real advantage is not price. It is that you can often stay seated until a Myeongdong-area stop instead of dragging bags through one more station change.
The current AREX fare table lists all-stop fares at KRW 4,750 from Terminal 1 and KRW 5,350 from Terminal 2 to Seoul Station. Express is KRW 18,100 from Terminal 1 and KRW 18,700 from Terminal 2. The rail part is efficient, but luggage stress returns if your hotel still needs Line 4, a sidewalk walk, or a short taxi after Seoul Station.
Incheon Airport's official taxi guide says designated international taxi services for Seoul use a flat-fare structure, while the airport's regular Seoul-bound taxi stands still follow base fare plus surcharges. Either way, taxi is the easiest physically because it removes stairs, gates, and last-mile walking.
Airport bus is usually the clean first answer if your stop is close to the hotel. Traffic may add time, but the lower walking burden usually matters more.
